I believe that in order to facilitate change at a global level, I have to discover my true purpose and be a leader to myself first.  As my favorite poet Rumi said “Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself.'’  Therefore, I am so passionate about WYSE as it was a life changing experience. WYSE has not only deepened my understanding in the underlying causes of global issues, but most importantly, it gave me a unique opportunity to further explore and connect with my true inner self. I have gained a sense of clarity, balance and strong trust within myself. This programme has helped me to excel so much further as a leader, a true leader. Most importantly, this has led me to a group of amazing global citizens (who I see as family) who share similar aspirations, dreams and desires to make positive changes to the world.

Four years later I made it to sixth form, and with friends we formed an arts collective called artisjustaword, which holds the simple belief that everyone is creative. Ten years later this arts collective is now an NGO.

Everyone in this world has the right to explore their imagination, to play and to have an education. With 7.003 billion people in this world the population is growing and new challenges are facing us.

I attended the WYSE International ILP and connected with people from different cultures, with different backgrounds and languages. We worked together and I gathered the tools I personally need to continue this playful, colourful path of life that I am on. The ILP was incredibly humbling. I fell in love with 39 people. My name is Simonetta Togliani, I live in Italy teaching yoga, but I was born in Eritrea, and my family has always liked travelling. This is why I think I found in Wyse something like a family. Because I grew up with different cultures, different religions, different languages, I really need to continue this path, it's like feeding my soul.

I would not only belong to the Italian culture, it would be too restrictive to me, I'd rather belong to something more universal.

Wyse has fulfilled this need, and has helped me to develop an understanding about the concept of Service. Unfortunately "Service" is very often not considered. I believe that "Service" is the basis of evolution of human beings and is the deepest gift that each individual can give to the common good.

WYSE gave me permission to feel that passion and express my Creative Social Responsibility – As an Ambassador I bring that understanding of WYSE to my region. Being a young girl with a lot of passion to change the world used to be a huge problem for me. I often felt powerless, different, misunderstood and was giving up on who I really am. The people and the context around me was changing me, and in a way making me lose my essence. I came to a point where I did not know who I was anymore or what my purpose in life is. I was a freshly graduate architect who spent her life drawing her dreams, but didn't know how to maintain or reach them. And then came WYSE and changed all of that. It made me ask the right questions, find my inner leader and the real purpose of my existence.

In 2014, I participated in the International Leadership Program with WYSE and I would definitely say it was the best experience in my life. It’s where you get to move out of your comfort zone, try to understand yourself clearly and to explore your hidden values and skills. WYSE has given me the opportunity to believe in myself more, to stop doubting every single step I take and to never think of giving up something I want to achieve.  I would love to recommend as many people as I can to join this program.

WYSE ILP was a turning point in my life and the light I’ve always been missing. It made me realize what I’m really capable of, look deeper into myself, and let me believe in myself again. It made me become aware of how important values are and made me identify my goals better.

I am an event planner in profession, with passion for theater, with interest in discovery, with a trait of curiosity, with attention to blogging, with a drive for entrepreneurship, and with a duty for social activism. I am a dreamer. I am a doer.

I work at the American University of Beirut, and live in Beirut, Lebanon. I travelled to many countries. I belong to a world that has been altered and distorted; a world full of chaos, corruption, injustice and negativity. I belong to a world that needs to be changed.

In 2011, I discovered WYSE and took part in the "International Leadership Program". I discovered myself, revisited my senses, my values, my skills, and my goals. I changed the way I perceived life and the world. I strongly believe in WYSE values and knowledge, and I feel the need, urge, and desire to spread them to others.

Being an architect, I have always been passionate about sustainable development in its environmental, economic and social dimensions. WYSE taught me that resilience must first come from deep within. A self-sustained person with a continuously evolving personality couldn’t but reflect this balance to the outer surrounding environment. And to be able to do that one needs love, support, motivation and inspiration. And those gifts are the ones I have received from my experience at WYSE.

I’m a dental student studying at the University of Leeds in England. Prior to joining WYSE most of my goals were academic. Now, I feel like I have a social responsibility towards youth in motivating them and helping them reach their goals.

WYSE was an outstanding experience. It greatly enhanced my self-awareness and made me realize the importance of leading myself first before leading others. As well as the crucial importance of surrounding myself with ambitious people, as they are the ones who will motivate me and lift me higher.
