WYSE is a people-powered project. With the exception of the course administrator, the entire organisation runs on the voluntary work of the community. Alumni are critical to the success of WYSE. The most important thing alumni can do to help WYSE is to find suitable participants for programmes. A very large number of participants come from personal recommendations and through like minded organisations.

Alumni can help WYSE by:

Encourage 5 people to apply for a programme

1. Look through your Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WhatsApp and other social accounts to find suitable people. You probably have a good idea of who would benefit from WYSE, we find that people with a global mindset who are already doing something to benefit others often benefit most from the programme.
2. Send them a personal message or call them about WYSE. Share your personal experience of the programme and the impact it had on you.
3. Don’t be put off if you’ve asked them before!
4. Think outside the box - if you can’t think of anyone you know, is there a friend of a friend?

Contact 5 groups and encourage them to apply for a programme

This could include like minded organisations, groups you belong to on social media, university groups, etc. You can write your own message or share one from WYSE social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) and add your own personal message to it. Your Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social accounts to likely have suitable groups.

Raise the profile of WYSE on social media

Help raise the profile of WYSE by:

1. Follow WYSE on LinkedIn, Facebook (including the alumni group) and Twitter
2. Add your WYSE programmes to your LinkedIn profile
3. Retweet/repost WYSE posts
4. Write a post about WYSE yourself, it can be as simple as sharing a photo you took on a programme (not in a session)

Contact 2 other members of the WYSE alumni community to take these steps

Send a message to two other WYSE alumni asking them to take these steps. You can also share this page with WYSE alumni groups on Facebook, WhatsApp etc. This is a very important step, it is how big social movements grow and have impact.
