Margaret Laryea, Ghana

I am an emerging researcher with two years experience in tutoring at the university. My primary expertise is in addressing educational gaps through research publication and peer education. I obtained both my MPhil (Risk Management and Insurance) and BSc. (Business Administration) from the University of Ghana and later worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Lancaster University Ghana. My research interest was intensified whilst working at the University of Ghana Social Work Department as a field researcher. My passion is to drive growth in my community through research-based activities.

One of the most widely accepted method of solid waste disposal in Ghana is the open burning of garbage. This method poses several risks to the environment and to the general public. The main aim of the project is to provide a deeper understanding of the factors underlying the open burning of garbage and to provide an alternative and sustainable waste disposal system within the Tema community 25 area.
